Basic BJJ

Designed to introduce newcomers to the basics of standing and ground grappling, and
provides a foundation of Brazilian jiu-jitsu’s sport and self-defense aspects to make the
transition to Advance BJJ a smooth one. A typical class includes a thorough warm-up,
followed by technical instruction and live rolling. This is offered during all of our classes.

Advanced BJJ

This class explores a broad range of techniques and positions while still keeping to its
core roots of basic BJJ. Designed for the student to learn more complex
grappling, throwing, clinching and submission techniques. Students can then take what
they learn and enter local competitions, where they will be judge on the advanced techniques they’ve learned to use naturally. All of our classes are designed for all ranks.

NO GI

This class will teach the student how to submit and position people without the use of
different grips of the Gi. This is the fighting style typically used during MMA matches,
and in some tournaments. It is recommended that the student begins his/her training
with Gi classes; as it is more technical, and will give the student a solid foundation for a
smooth transition.

Muay Thai Striking

This class begins with Thai warm up exercises, stretches, specific conditioning, and
shadow boxing. Learning Pad work, control, and fluidity minimizes the risk of injury.
Students will focus on utilizing core body muscles and develop a basic understanding of
techniques and sound conditioning. Muay Thai is referred to as the “Art of Eight Limbs”
because it utilizes punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight “points of
contact.” Intermediate to advance students will be able to partake in live sparring. Muay
Thai is the most devastating form of stand up fighting.

Children’s Program

Our exciting Jiu-Jitsu program includes 45 minutes of educational fitness themed
activities, and fun team building games three times a week. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the ideal
method of self-defense for kids because it emphasizes leverage and technique over
strength and power. This focus makes it possible for all children to excel, regardless of
their size or athletic ability. Children between the ages of 5 to 13 are eligible to
participate in the program, those between the tender ages of 3-5 can receive private
lessons to boost their motor movement, develop coordination, balance, and agility.

Over time, Children will gain self-esteem and exhibit confidence with their new jiu-jitsu
techniques. Our instructors constantly stress the value of when to use their skills (for
self-defense, or in competition only.) The hidden exposure to direction following, humility
& many other life lessons are a bonus. We enlighten everyone with many problem-
solving skills, multi-tasking abilities along with cause & effect. Children who have high
self-esteem have the confidence to stand up for themselves, and more apt to help
others.

Those who participate in Jiu-Jitsu are proven to have better attention spans, which in
turn means being a better student in school and better grades! They will learn gratitude,
respect, loyalty, and the importance of keeping their bodies healthy and drug free.
Every child learns to follow directions, work as a team, and participate in class activities.

Kids are ranked in a belt system (white, yellow, orange, green, and blue) and within
these belts they will earn degrees (3 degrees per belt). The belt system teaches your
child about setting long-term goals (becoming a black belt) and short-term goals, such
as being able to execute a new technique they learned in class, or achieving their next
degree or belt.

This program will teach your child practical self-defense skills for life threatening
situations, and it will teach them how to think fast on their feet, improvise and avoid
trouble. Instructors will teach the students when to use their newfound jiu-jitsu
techniques, and not to be a bully.

Self Defense

This class will allow the student to learn and drill techniques that are a practical
application for any real world situation. Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is a complete form of self
defense, it works for everybody, and does not require athleticism. RGJJ is proven to be
the most effective system of self-defense there is, and it is being taught here by world
class detail oriented instruction.
